Describes experiments to carry a case containing a polychromed wooden figure, two pastel drawings and measuring instruments by airplane to investigate the reason and devise a packing method. Care should be taken to pack art objects in an airtight and non- deformable case, as sudden changes of pressure are detrimental to brittle and loose pigment layers. If objects are packed at sea level and unpacked in higher altitude, stabilization of air pressure outside and inside the case should be achieved.
