Abstract
Quaternary ammonium compounds are described as effective bacteriacides and fungicides for textiles as a result of experiments conducted in the Soviet Union. Tests found the quaternary ammonium compound solutions to be colorless non-reactive with the fibers, soluble in water and organic solvents. They also have high surface activity. Residual activity for more than a year was reported. It was reported that the quality of the textiles was insignificantly affected.
