Abstract
Two low molecular-weight polymers have been found to dissipate static charge on polymethyl methacrylate (Plexiglas) without destroying optical properties. Acetonitrile and nitromethane, applied by immersion at a temperature between 0 and 30°C. give the clearest finished product. Ionene polymers, which are dissolvable in water at very high dilutions, impart good antistatic properties, and can be applied by coating or incorporation in the plastic. Ionene polymers may have an additional use as antibacterial coatings. -- AATA
