It is considered to be important, in studying polymer degradation, and in designing accelerated aging experiments, to be able to determine under what conditions heterogeneous degradation occurs, and to estimate the extent of significant oxidative penetration. The use is described of several techniques for identification of oxidative degradation gradients in selected industrial polymers. -- AATA
