Abstract
The photo-chemical reaction is a surface phenomenom. Natural silk is more resistant than cultivated silk. Figures are given on the reduction of tear strength by 50per thousand of common fibers exposed to sunlight. There is a discussion of the British Blue fading standards. The article stresses that those colors which fade will continue to fade. Examples of fading are cited and the necessity of studying the problem and taking proper precautions is stressed.
