From the basis of the need to take action in view of the crisis situation and point of inflexion in which architecture now finds itself, and aware that the solution involves a change, mainly as regards attitude, architectural recycling comes forward as a possible sustainable tool. This is architectural recycling understood as the start of a new lifecycle of something already existing, in view of economic, social, environmental and innovation factors, … in short, a sustainable alternative to demolition and new building. In order for these recycling solutions to work, the strategy implemented is of vital importance. That is why this article aims to develop the standards or steps to be taken which will define recycling strategies, through the study of texts, research and practical cases.
