The different work done from January 2006 to December 2008 by the Fundacio Marina d’Or de la Comunitat Vallenciana has enabled the excavation of over 100,000 square metres. Some aspects whose importance makes them deserve special mention are the sectors of the Islamic period, with their storage structures, for industrial use, as well as an extensive necropolis; the Iberian city of Torre la Sal and the Neolithic site in Costamar, as documented in the Torre la Sal PAI (Integral Action Plan) (Cabanes, Castellon). During the excavations performed, some interesting pre-consolidation treatments have been developed, as well as highly innovative systems for on-site extraction in different types of archaeological remains, furthering and ensuring the stability of the material until this was transferred to the Workshop for conservation and restoration of Archaeological Materials.
