Abstract
The Cochasqui Pre-Incan Pyramids project helps to raise the value and ensure on-site conservation of a major archaeological site. This is an interdisciplinary project involving the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID), Valencia Polytechnic University, through researchers at the University Institute for Restoration of heritage, and the Authorities of Pichincha, Ecuador. Due to the historical-cultural importance of Cochasqui, a conservative intervention programme was designed, for recovery of two ceramic ceremonial platforms located at the top of Pyramid no 13. This thus contributes to the protection of a heritage which is common to all and, in particular, a trait identifying the people of Ecuador.
