Some approaches to the problems of displaying and storing East Asian paintings that have been used in the Smithsonian's Freer Gallery of Art are demonstrated. A basic introduction to the subject, this presentation includes a number of formats: hand scrolls, hanging scrolls, single panels, screens and album leaves, and fan paintings. -- AATA
