The Central Asian stuccos in the National Museum, New Delhi, of circa 6th to 10th centuries AD are mainly composed of alumina and silica mixed with straw fibers or hair. The stuccos from Khotan site are made of plaster of Paris. The main problem is the structural decay. Consolidation was carried out with PVA emulsion. The stuccos were restored with same fabricated material as that of the original object. Small bamboo strips were also used for structural repair and consolidation.
