Abstract
Gives history of albumen printing, describes process of making albumen paper, and describes problems with the prints. Problems include fading, yellowing of highlights, migration of acidity from auxiliary mounts, staining and bleaching from mounting adhesive, physical problems due to mounting-dimensional instability, cracking, foxing, stains from mold or water or pressure sensitive tapes, dirt, tears, creases, and losses. Finally, it discusses the treatment of these problems.
