Unfortunately church authorities often call in restorers to restore ecclesiastical objects after damage has become unnecessarily extensive. In Nuremberg, Germany, a program of continuous inspection and maintenance of objects of art in churches has been started. Every two years(?) condition reports are written and sent to the owner and to the Office for Care of Monuments. -- AATA
