Abstract
Although the Reformation in Sweden was gentle in regard to Catholic medieval objects of art, on the other hand they were only left in the churches. It is first in the beginning of the 20th century that new interest for this art arose. Points out the big import of altars in Sweden in the 14th and 15th centuries from Lübeck (Germany) and other Hanseatic towns as well as in the last decades before the Reformation from Flanders. This means that Swedish medieval art is not only of national but also of European importance. -- AATA
