Abstract
In the acquisition of thermoremanent magnetization, intrinsic anisotropy is a strong effect in many types of pottery; serious error in the value determined for the ancient field is liable to result if this effect is ignored. The correction procedure developed for use with a SQUID cryogenic magnetometer is described. See AATA 10-102.
