Abstract
Traces of pigment and surface finishes on the Madonna and Child by Conrad Meit are studied, described and analysed in this paper. These findings have been completed with archival records and observations made on other sculptures by Meit. Based on this research, a reconstruction proposal of the original aspect of the sculpture has been made. The consequences of these findings on the choice of the conservation/restoration treatment is discussed. -- SCMRE
