Abstract
Some limited investigations into potential health hazards in the natural history stores of a museum are reported. Results of tests were largely inconclusive, but mercury was ruled out as a health hazard in this case. Napthalene and paradichlorobenzene were present in very low concentrations; comparing mercury and arsenic in speciments, there was far more arsenic (as a dessicant); mercury and dust on gloves could be more or less innocuous if reasonable hygiene precautions are taken; mercury and arsenic in the air were very low.
