Abstract
In 2000, a system for accurate colour, high-definition digital capture of 3D objects was developed at the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musees de France (C2RMF) as part of the ACOHIR European project for panoramic viewing recording and high-colour accuracy magnified area examination. This system is now used, along with other 3D technologies, at the Musee Thomas-Henry in Cherbourg. These 3D technologies complete the capture of 2D panoramic images using 3D charts, doing so with dimensional parameters by means of a laser beam scanner or spatial mapping. These data will be used later for 3D image automatic recognition within the framework of the SCULPTEUR IST project recently agreed to by the EU. -- SCMRE
