Abstract
The washing behavior of Australian merino wool was evaluated. Degree of whiteness, cystine content, solubility in alkalies and sulfite, and urea solution were among properties examined. Supermolecular structure was assessed by fiber optical birefringence, degree of crystallization, crystallite dimensions, and fiber topography tests. -- AATA
