The following statement completes the title of this article: Topped with a new, single-ply roof of Hypalon, the historic Equinox hotel (in Manchester Village, Vermont) has risen from a decade of neglect. This building being on the National Historic Preservation Trust list meant that many of its features were to be restored in exacting detail but no such restrictions applied to the roof. The new cover is able to withstand extremes of weather and the resulting thermal expansion and contraction. The Hi-Tuff single-ply roofing system used is based on Hypalon synthetic rubber made only by Du Pont. -- AATA
