Abstract
An historical and iconographic study of the quadriptych is followed by a report on the examinations of support, and painting technique. Microchemical analysis of the media revealed a mixed protein-tempera, protein-emulsion and oil technique. Treatment consisted of fixative consolidation of paint gelatin. Retouch was executed in watercolour. References.
