Abstract
The article describes two 14th century copes belonging to the cathedral of Saint-Bertrandde-Comminges, which were given to the cathedral in 1309 by Pope Clement V, a former bishop of Comminges. The copes are examples of opus anglicanum embroidery. The author discusses their iconography, embroidery techniques, and stylistic characteristics; and notes the influence of English gothic architecture, sculpture, stained glass and illuminated manuscripts on their design. -- AATA
