Abstract
Examples of accidents are given to illustrate the following potential drycleaning problems: discoloration (fading and running), mechanical degradations (pilling, plushing, fibrillation, tearing, etc.), sheens on acrylic velours caused by heat (vapor jets), fibrillation caused by certain chemicals and heat especially on silk and cellulosic fibers (linen, cotton, viscose), or disintegration by acetone and other ketone and discoloration by alcohol, localized felting, and tannin and mildew stains. Each accident is described in detail and suggestions are made as to how to avoid them in the future. -- AATA
