Abstract

A technological description of the double instrument (8 foot harpsichord combined with 4 foot virginal) in the Kunstgewerbemuseum, Berlin (GDR). Inscribed lines on the bottom plank with markings for each C and F sharp permit the reconstruction of the instrument's original state. A spectroscopic analysis of the alloy of the rose showed lead with 1.7% tin and traces of antimony (0. 1%), bismuth (0. 1%), copper (0.05%), silver (0.05%), iron (0.01%). -- AATA
