Abstract
The functions of reducing agents in textile conservation are explained. These are substances that control bleaching and oppose oxidation. A number of sulfur bearing chemicals used for reduction purposes are mentioned and ways of using them discussed. Practical non-sulfur bearing antioxidants and rust, corrosion, and stain removers are described.
