Abstract
Definition is made of oxidation and of reduction, the opposing chemical process. The principal oxidizing agents or bleaches are listed and their limitations explained. Safe procedures for using them are suggested. Brief dilution tables for various concentrations of sodium hypochlorite or common laundry bleach and for hydrogen peroxide are given. A way of mild bleaching with sodium perborate is provided.
