Textile wetcleaning is discussed including the examination procedure before washing in water. The chemistry of water behavior as well as the action of acids, alkalies and salts is explained and illustrated with diagrams and cartoons. Hard and soft water, complex ion formation and preparation of water for wetcleaning are among the subjects considered.
