Abstract
The specialist in decorative veneering during the late 17th and early 18th century in England was the cabinet-maker; as early as 1616, joiners are cited for doing inlaye. After 1660 the inlay of solid wood as well as veneer was being executed. Developments in marquetry styles are described, and the tools used by the worker of buhl are identified. -- AATA
