The user who is concerned with the properties that make papers permanent and durable must study those properties and should consult with paper conservators, chemists and manufacturers. These measures are important if the user is to make an informed decision about the reasons for and degree of permanence and durability required. Once the decision has been made, the user must properly handle, store and exhibit the paper to insure that the permanent and durable properties are not seriously altered or diminished.
