Abstract
This article describes a system for the protection of exhibited material against photo-chemical damage, and occupants against discomfort, due to excessive levels of natural light in a Smithsonian museum. The system was planned to be flexible as to optional manual controls, both individual and group. It will also prevent sudden changes of light value, such as may be due to a fast-moving cloud, from causing over-frequent closing and opening of curtains.
