Abstract
The article outlines the history of the San Francisco Mint, the deterio ration of the building and its restoration in 1976. The treatment included removal of unsound masonry, cleaning of the structure with a compound of water and fine aggregate, replacement of broken ornaments with new stone members, patching with a compound of ground stone and synthetic binders, and installation of fiberglass cornices. -- AATA
