Abstract
Tests using dried skulls from fresh, frozen, and fluid-preserved specimens were performed to identify optimal preparation procedures for cleaning of bones by dermestid beetles. Standard drying of fresh and frozen specimens proved to be the most suitable. Although there are problems associated with some fluid-preserved specimens there are preservation benefits that might encourage its use.
