In order to clean costumes and still preserve their original seamsthe garments were cleaned with trichlortrifluorethane (R113) (Freon). A special procedure was developed for the special cleaning machine (Böwe F 12 Adsorba). The results varied: wool and silk returned to their original brilliance, whereas cotton and linen showed less marked results. -- AATA
