The technique used for cleaning stonework should be selected according to the geological characteristics of the material. This article presents case studies of washing exteriors and interiors at Bath Abbey, Exeter Cathedral, Gloucestershire Hall, St. John's College, Oxford, Lincoln Cathedral, Romsey Abbey, St. Cross Wells Cathedral, Westminster Abbey.
