Less heat and less light, however, may be a fringe benefit for conservation. Holding the galleries and storerooms at a lower temperature than that required in offices and public rooms would avoid danger from dryness during the heating season. Since air cooling in summer acts as a dehumidifier any energy curtailment which might raise the RH level above 65% would be extremely deleterious.
