The article expresses the point of view of the restorer concerning colour rendering of artificial light sources. He finds that incandescent lamps falsify the colours of many pictures, because the delicate blue and green tones lose their subtlety. Pictures by Cezanne and Pisarro are mentioned as examples. Those fluorescent tubes which have good colour rendering properties are recommended where artificial light is necessary.
