Investigation of weathering rates of limestone structures, stele, and carvings from Mayan archaeological sites in Yucatan, Mexico, indicate that the limestone had weathered uniformly and differentially with an average weathering rate for one of the deeper hollows of 1.6 cm per 100 years, based on known construction dates. -- AATA
