Two types of sites of neolithic activity for the production of stone axes are distinguished: places close to outcrops of hard rocks; and places where the axes had been produced. The first type of site relates directly to the geology of the region; detailed information on neolithic quarrying techniques could be determined. The sites are dated from 3000-2500 B.C.
