Water is discussed as a natural U.S. resource emphasizing that waters are polluted by harmful affluents of the modern agro-industrial culture. The effects of the affluents are shown in the dwindling fish population of lakes, worn marble statues, carcinogenic elements in drinking water, etc. Ethics concerning the future use of water are also discussed. -- AATA
