Substantial amounts of pottery from four Armada wrecks around the British Isles provide a reliably dated sample of wares in use in Iberia in the last quarter of the 16th century, while known ship movements allow the deduction of provenances for some wares. The collection is catalogued and discussed, and the relationship of form to content is considered. Preliminary petrological analysis suggests the bulk of the Armada pottery was made to a utility contract standard. Types catalogued are olive jars, tin glazed earthenware, Merida types, glazed red earthenwares, and decorated tin glazed earthenware (majolica). -- AATA
