Describes the restoration of a christening jug of pewter, the middle part of which was ruined due to an accident. An analysis with the help of a Perkin-Elmer atomic absorption spectrometer showed the following percentages of weight of the metals in the original alloy.: silver 0.03; copper 0.38; iron less than 0.01; nickel less than 0.01; lead 11.16; antimony 0.02; tin 88.31; zinc less than 0. 01. Total: 99. 90%. A similar alloy was used for the restoration. A photo of the christening jug before the accident permitted an exact restoration.
