Abstract
The key factors which influence the corrosion of coatings on steel are water permeability, oxygen permeability, ion permeability, adhesion of the coating under wet conditions, resistance of the coating to alkali, and the inclusion of corrosion inhibitors in a coating formulation. Understanding these basic factors is important when designing aqueous coatings. -- AATA
