Abstract
A marine archaeologist has found the earliest intact battering ram recently, in the Sea of Athlit, off the coast of northern Israel. Research as to its precise origin is not conclusive, but scientists have analyzed the composition of the bronze and dated the wood to approximately 400 + 130 B.C. Stylistically Hellenistic, the battering ram is undergoing further study as well as conservation. -- AATA
