Abstract
Leicester Museums have a modified commercial dry cleaning machine which provides various program options suited to diverse textile objects. As mechanical action is necessary for effective soil removal, various methods of protective packaging of textiles for dry cleaning have been developed. The effectiveness of reduced mechanical action in conjunction with longer immersion times is being explored.
