Abstract
In the course of a study of early compound textiles from Egypt, the authors have developed a systematic protocol for the technical investigation of ancient textiles and the reconstruction of their weaving technologies. To fulfill the protocol requirements, structural image analysis which is nondestructive and quantitative, has been considered.
