Since the year of 1934, when the first ninot was spared in the city of Valencia, many artworks have been saved from the cities that celebrate the fallas. However, the conservation of such objects has been poor and lacked conservation proposals beyond storage in museums or other facilities. Moreover, the continuous deterioration of the materials that compose the ninots, and the direct interventions performed have not accomplished an effective preservation. The planning of a project of conservation and restoration of these artworks demands a profound knowledge of the techniques and materials that have enriched the fallero artist-craftsman trade, important for its influence over Valencian artistic tradition in its distinct fields.
