Abstract
This item deals with the restoration of a set of supportless fragmented fresco wall painting coming from the Roman archaeological site of Bilbilis. The outstanding aspects in this intervention have been: the process of reconstruction of the decorative programme as a result of the puzzle with almost 4,000 fragments retrieved during the excavations, the construction of a new inert support which reproduces the size of the original location suiting the reversibility criteria and the final presentation for its exhibition in a museum by means of the execution of a low level and an undertone retouching.
