Abstract
A series of extracts from Hellot's two books explaining manufacturing secrets and processes of the soft paste porcelain produced at Vincennes between 1740 and 1750. The composition of the frit, the plasticizer or body, the binder, the transparent glaze and some of the colors used, as well as methods of forming joints (for spouts and handles), of firing, and of decoration are summarized.
