Advantages of hot-melt adhesives include their resistance to low temperature, short set-up time, moisture impermeability, and performance as a gap filler. Two relatively new types include pressure-sensitive and remoistenable adhesives. Pressure-sensitive adhesives must remain permanently tacky so that the adhesive bond can be broken and remade several times. Re moistenable adhesives are applied as hot-melts but are sensitive to moisture. One example of their use is on envelopes. -- AATA
