Listed are a number of plants which are known to grow on the site of mines for lead, copper and coal, or in areas where alum and iron were worked, even if the height or proximity of the sea does not usually favor their growth. Several other plants which have been observed in lead smelting areas, or which have been used to indicate old metal-working sites are noted. -- AATA
