In the mainframe of energy certification of building, for the cooling requirement calculation for air conditioning the standardization European technical committees have introduced a procedure similar to that one for heating requirement and based on the utilization factor method. Starting from dynamic simulation results, the authors present a critical opinion about the actual formulation of this summer procedure showing its limits and describing a modification proposal.
